Sunday, February 24th, 2019

A severe wind storm moved thru the area Sunday and Monday creating numerous issues throughout the State. Our department like many others handled a wide variety of calls ranging from wires arcing, tress and wires down and general storm related calls. The most severe alarm was a resident stranded in an elevator due to power outage at the Forest Hills Personal Care Home in Croyle Township. The resident was in the elevator and became stuck when they lost power. The home regained power upon our arrival and staff was able to extricate her without any problem.

Engine 841 was dispatched to assist Station 82 for an electrical hazard on the 1200 block of Centennial Dr. The alarm was in Somerset County and our units were cancelled.

A first alarm assignment was dispatched for a working structure fire-initially reported with entrapment, to a residence on 3rd St., in St Michael Wednesday afternoon. All occupants had exited the duplex safely prior to our arrival.

Rescue Engine 84 and Utility 84 responded to assist Medic 781 Forest Hills EMS on a cardiac arrest to a residence on Amsite Rd, in Adams Township Thursday evening.
A first alarm was dispatched for a structure fire at a residence on the 1200 block of Solomon Run Rd, in Richland Township. First arriving officer advised of a heat lamp malfunction in the garage and cancelled the remainder of the alarm assignment.
Rescue Engine 84 responded to the 500 block of Ragers Hill Rd., to investigate a minor fuel spill. Nothing was found and the driver did not stay on scene to confirm spill.
Later on Monday afternoon, Station 84 firefighters responded to a rollover accident on Rt 219 southbound, south of the St Michael exit. Crews assisted PD with traffic and debris.

The first alarm was dispatched for an explosion investigation in the area of Robin Drive , in Salix. A local resident witnessed a flash and heard an explosion early Saturday morning. Fire crews checked the area and could find nothing and placed all units into service.
The first alarm was dispatched for a heavy machinery equipment fire on the 800 block of Old Bedford Pike Tuesday evening. A Feller Buncher logging unit had caught fire while being operated approximately 2 miles into a wooded area off of the Bedford Pike.
